The Pigeon Chronicle

17th July 2002 to 16th August 2002

Following the demolition of an empty warehouse near my flat, the local pigeon community had to relocate. One chose to do so in an empty planter hanging in my balcony.

I played the "shoo it away" game a few times, but it kept coming back. So I decided to just pull the planter down until I planted something in it. But when I looked inside it, I discovered two small eggs.

Now, I hate pigeons. So mama pigeon and I came to an understanding that they could stay until the hatchlings could fly off. And a few days after the last photo, Pidgie flew away.

Fucking ugly thing it was. But I miss the sound of the hatchling crying for food.
